"Baby Mine" is a song written by Ned Washington and Frank Churchill for Walt Disney's 1941 film, Dumbo. The original version was sung by Betty Noyes in the character of Mrs. Jumbo, who is Dumbo's mother, while she cradles baby Dumbo with her trunk.

On May 10, 2020, Katy Perry performed a cover of the song for The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II in costume as Mrs. Jumbo while her dog, Nugget, was in costume as Dumbo.[1][2]

Lyrics[]

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

Little one, when you play
Don't you mind what they say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those people who scold you
What they'd give
Just for the right to hold you

From your head down to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows
You're precious to me
Sweet as can be, baby of mine
Oh, baby of mine
Baby of mine

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

Little one when you play
Don't you mind what you say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

From your head to your toes
You're so sweet goodness knows
You are so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine
