Cosmic Energy is the fifth extended play by Katy Perry, it was released on December 18, 2020. It is part of a series of four compilation EP's released to promote the album Smile, being the fourth of them.
It was released to coincide with the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn,[1] the compilation uses this astronomical event as a symbolic backdrop for significant change and alignment in life. The selected tracks focus on themes of perseverance ("By The Grace Of God"), self-awareness ("Wide Awake"), and finding connection to something vast and inspiring ("E.T."). The overarching message encourages listeners to look past their immediate troubles—emphasized in the track "Not the End of the World"—and embrace the idea of being connected to a larger, positive "cosmic" force, ultimately designed to uplift spirits during challenging times.
