"Dressin' Up" is a song written by Katy Perry, Tricky Stewart, Matt Thiessen, and Monte Neuble for Perry's album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. It was recorded in March 2010. Rolling Stone magazine said in a article prior to the release of Teenage Dream that there was a "Prince-inspired" track. Perry said the song's lyrics are "cute". According to a memo released by Namaste Studios (where the song was recorded), the song will be released as a single in 2012 to promote the re-release of Teenage Dream. In a newer memo released on November 1, 2011 on Namaste Studio's website, it mentions that "Dressin' Up" will be included in a restripe album. The album's name was later confirmed to be Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.
