Russell Edward Brand (born June 4, 1975) is an English comedian, actor, radio host, writer & activist. He was the spouse of singer and actress, Katy Perry. He has appeared in films such as St. Trinian's, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Bedtime Stories, Despicable Me, Hop, and Arthur.

He married Katy Perry on October 23, 2010. Brand achieved fame in the UK for presenting a Big Brother spin-off, Big Brother's Big Mouth, and for his radio show, among other television series and award ceremonies. On December 30, 2011, Brand filed for divorce from Perry due to "irreconcilable differences". He texted her saying their marriage was over. The two never spoke to each other again. The divorce became effective July 16, 2012. Perry wrote the song "By the Grace of God" about her experience with depression and suicidal thoughts following their divorce.

He is also known for his "Booky Wook" memoirs. The second Booky Wook is about his relationship with Perry prior to their divorce.
