"Into Me You See" is the title of a song by Katy Perry from her fifth studio album, Witness. The song is written by Katy Perry and Ferras, as well as Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard of the group, Hot Chip. It was performed for the first time live on March 27, 2018 during the Tokyo, Japan stop of "Witness: The Tour". Introducing the song, Perry said "This next song is about being loved like you've never ever ever felt before."
Background[]
Perry announced the title of the song before her show in The Water Rats in London, United Kingdom during a livestream with CapitalFM.[1] The song's title is meant to be a play in words as it sounds like the word "intimacy" when said fast enough. She said the song is about "how someone broke the spell of me being scared of intimacy, and now I'm ready to be open." Perry revealed that the song almost didn't make the album and was even being considered for an acoustic record she had been planning for years. The original cut was produced by Hot Chip and was more uptempo. Perry felt 15 songs on the album would have made it too long, but decided to include the track along with others to make up for the four year break she took, as well as being able to give the whole message of the album. The song was reworked to be slower and was meant to close the album.
The song is believed to be written about British actor Orlando Bloom. The reason for this was the first show it was played at was one he attended as well as Perry admitting during a show that "it's a song I wrote about an English boy."
